Random Picker

Need a random number, a raffle winner, or a fair order for presentations? Pick from a range or a list in one click.

How to use it

  1. Choose Numbers in a range or From a list.
  2. Set the min and max, or paste your list with one entry per line.
  3. Choose how many to pick, decide whether repeats are allowed, and press Pick.

Under the hood

Every random value starts as a 32-bit number from crypto.getRandomValues. To turn it into a fair choice among n options without modulo bias, values that fall into the uneven remainder are discarded and redrawn. List draws without repeats use a partial Fisher–Yates shuffle, so every possible ordering is equally likely. Number draws without repeats redraw duplicates, switching to a full shuffle when you ask for more than half the range.

Examples

Limits

  • Up to 1,000 picks at a time and a range span of up to one billion.
  • This is not a certified drawing system. Official lotteries and regulated sweepstakes have their own rules.

FAQ

What's the difference between allowing repeats and not?

With repeats allowed, each pick is independent — like rolling a die several times, the same value can show up again. Without repeats, a value is removed once drawn — like pulling names from a hat.

Is this good enough for a giveaway?

The randomness comes from crypto.getRandomValues, which is designed for security use and is unpredictable. For a public giveaway, run the draw on screen or record it so participants can see it happened fairly.

Why are my numbers sorted?

When you pick numbers without repeats, the result is sorted to make it easier to read (like lottery numbers). With repeats on, numbers stay in the order they were drawn, which matters for things like dice rolls.

Can I paste a column from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Copy the column in Excel or Google Sheets and paste it into the list box — each row becomes one entry. Empty lines are ignored.

Does it store my list?

No. The list never leaves your browser, and it's cleared when you reload the page.
